Working of touch screen-resistive system

Touch screen phones and computers are now available at cheaper price in our market. Lets see what is the technology behind it.Three systems are used to detect the touch of a person. I am going to explain one of these.
Its called the resistive system. It consist of a normal glass layer which is a good conductor and also a metallic layer. Between these two layers there are space.An electric current runs through these when the device is operated. The outer most layer is scratch-resistant and when a person touches it the previously mentioned two layers come into contact at the exact spot. The electric current variation at that spot is noted and the coordinates of the point are noted by the computer(or phone). Once this coordinate is known it is then converted into signals by drivers and a detected by an operating system(as the movement of mouse is detected).

Imagine computers working in light's speed, Super of the super computer.Yes a new gateway to human innovations has arrived- chips with speed of light.Scientists of Massachusetts Institute of Technology developed new infrared made from germanium.After 1950s there had been 15,000 different lasers but this is unique due to two main reasons

• It operates on room temperature
• It uses low power

"Using a germanium laser as a light source, you could communicate at very high data rates at very low power," said Jurgen Michel of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, who developed the new germanium laser.In the creation of Germanium laser they used a six-inch, silvery gray disk of silicon and sprayed it with a thin film of germanium.These lasers will also be used in many electronic devices and these are the turning points in human innovations.

Beyond microchips

Microchips revolutionized the world. Its not possible to think about any electronic device with out a microchip in it. Microchip manufacturers are in a run to make the next generation fastest chip. In the near future this will hit a wall. These which are made of silicon will once reach its speed limits and miniaturization. They will search for a new material after that to produce computing speed.

This search for the next generation microprocessors has now came to an end. Scientists found that millions of super computers exist inside living organism. DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid-a material our gene is made of) is having high potential to perform calculations many times faster than the fastest computer by human. One day will come when DNA will be used as a microchips so as to fasten the computer. DNA computers can store data, billions of times more than any PC. Lets wait for the 'BIOCHIP' to be on market to fasten ourselves.

BMW Gina

Hey, today i am gonna introduce to you a superb car. Its from BMW and it is BMW Gina. The most attractive feature of this car is that it has got a fabric-skin which can change shape accordingly. GINA(Geometry and functions In 'N' Adaptions) which is made of polyurethane-coated fabric skin is flexible as well as water resistant. The shape of the body depends on exterior conditions. It can change shape due to the aluminium wire structure beneath its skin. At parts which are movable flexible carbon struts are used. Its headlights are revealed when an eyelid is opened.

Gina's door opens like as a butterfly.When the car is parked the steering wheel and other things are made to move to an ideal position on the centre console to allow driver easy entry to the car. Lets hope thatt BMW GINA will be a success.

Future of internet- Brainnet

The next world of internet is not far.Scientists in Britain have developed a System that creates "BRAIN TO  BRAIN COMMUNICATIONS".
Actually this was put forward to help people, who had disability.It is a technique that allows computer to analyse brain signals, that enabled them to sent messages formed by a person's brain signals though an internet connection to another person's brain miles away.
Working

Two people are connected to electrodes and it detects activity of certain parts of brain.For eg the first person generates ones and zeros, where they imagined moving their left hand for zero and right for one.The first persons computer recogonizes these binary codes.Now these are send to the second person's computer via internet.And it is either send to second person by using lamps of definite frequencies or directly to brain via impulse.
This is to change our world to an extand lets hope it does.

Audi E-tron

Johan de Nysschen, President, Audi (US) said that they are to produce the all electric e-tron model.They had already revealed the model in Frankfurt Auto Show.
E-tron is having 313bhp and 3319lb-ft torque.It can reach 100 kmph in 4.8 seconds and has a max speed of 200kmph.

It is built on aluminium space frame and the other parts(namely the doors,covers,sidewalls and roof) are made of a fibre-reinforced plastic.The coupe runs on four motors, one at each wheel, which produce an equivalent of 313 horsepower.I hope e-tron will be a success.

Device for extracting Oxygen from moon

NASA is to set up moon as a base.Surely it will happen, NASA or any other space agency will set up moon as a base.In the near future it will supply us oxygen and water and also will provide us fuel for return flights.

NASA is now designing a new device - an oxygen generator that would extract the element from silicon dioxide and metal oxides from its dirt.Testing the device there is a bit tricky, as gravity here is more stronger than as of there and also machines will work differently.
Here we have one of their concepts.The device will initialy dig,carry and dump moon soil into a holding vessel.Then different particles are separated  by size and are collected more efficiently.For example iron oxides can be separated by using electrostatic chargers(simply magnet).Then this separated compounds will be blown into a reactor with hydrogen and is heated to 2,000 degree Fahrenheit.At the same time oxides released as a result of this would be attached to hydrogen and be collected.

Technology behind finding of water in moon.

Scientists have found H2O(water) and OH(hydroxil) molecules in moon.You must have think how they found it,Yes here is the answer.
The space probe of India- Chandrayan-1 was fitted with an equipment- 'Moon Minerology Mapper' .An another equipment, 'moon impact probe'(ISRO's) found that one cubic metre of soil in moon contains almost one litre of water.


How water was founded in moon?
This was using an equipment named spectrometer.To explain this first we need to know what is a spectrum.Before that we should know what is dispersion.


Dispersion:It is the phenomenon of splitting of a beam of light into radiations of different frequencies after passing through a prism.
Spectrum: The pattern of radiations obtained after dispersion of beam is called spectrum.
Working of spectrometer:It has a prism to split beam of light falling on it. When normal sunlight falls on it we get certain radiations like that of rainbow.Actually rainbow is formed when water droplets act as a prism.These lights like violet,indigo,blue,green,yellow,orange and red are radiations having corresponding wavelength. When Sunlight hits moon surface certain radiations are absorbed by the water molecules present int and is reflected back.So when these reflected  sunlight falls on the spectrometer the absorbed part of the radiation(with corresponding wavelength) appears as dark lined.These darklines appear due to absorption of radiations of corresponding wavelength by the water present in the surface of moon.Since such a spectrum with dark lines was absorbed in moon by the spectrometer of Chandrayan-1 they concluded that there is water on moon.
