A twitter employee in the companies blog told that the final match of the world cup "represented the largest period of sustained activity". He told that during the last few minutes the company saw more than 2,000 tweets per second. He also reported that number even rose to 3000 tweets per second in the last 15 minutes. These generated from 172 countries in 27 different languages. This waas the first world cup that offered full access to video and commentry online. Considering the fact that Twitter is not the only social site the number has risen more. In the next one this will even rise more. As per as the world is conserned events like world cup are little big things and for the internet too.
